I’m a health and wellness journalist, trauma-informed writing instructor, and editorial coach helping people, and the spaces that support them, use writing as a tool for emotional wellness, creative clarity, and professional storytelling. I partner with retreats, recovery centers, holistic resorts, and conferences to lead transformative writing experiences. About Marnie

Marnie Goodfriend is an award-winning journalist, health and wellness writer, and trauma-informed writing instructor.

Her work spans journalism, branded content, and personal narrative, with bylines in TIME, GQ, The Washington Post, The Rumpus, Los Angeles Review of Books, Health, and LA Weekly. She writes for brands such as Saatva, Loftie, and Macy’s, and is a contributing writer for HealthyWomen, She Knows, and Flow Space.

Marnie has written compelling profiles of visionaries—celebrities and business leaders—who are revolutionizing mission-centered brands and initiatives, interviewing Naomi Watts, Rosanna Arquette, Rose McGowan, Shannon Lee, Brittany Kaiser, Cameron Brooks, Angela Nazarian, and others.  

Marnie loves helping writers reauthor their experiences through book consulting, coaching, and her workshops and classes. She is passionate about helping non-writers and writers alike cultivate writing practices for emotional wellness. 
 

A PEN America Emerging Voices fellow and well-known speaker and advocate, Marnie is deeply connected to the Los Angeles literary, endometriosis, and sexual assault communities. After 15 years in Los Angeles, she returned to her home state of Connecticut, where she completing her second memoir.
